A Wolf's Tale

There once was a pack of wolves up in the mountains where it always snowed. Over the years their fur turned as white as the snow and word spread that they had secret powers. As years passed fewer and fewer people visited the mountains. What the people did not know was the wolves' power was turning human. One day a group of three wolves snuck off from the pack. They turned human and went to the nearby town. They began to cause trouble. Any trouble. Breaking into places, starting fights, and more. Soon the whole town was in a panic and tried to fight back. Well after hours of fighting the town beat the wolves and they ran back to the mountains. Except one. She had been injured horribly and was not strong enough to turn back into her wolf form. A little kid found her and ran for her older brother to help. The brother soon returned and helped the poor girl, not knowing she was one of the wolves attacking the town just minutes before. The next few days passed and he cared for her till she finally woke. Looking around and not seeing her pack she freaked out. The brother did his best to calm her down and explain what happened. When she was final calm he said his name and his sister’s. The wolf just stared and wouldn’t speak for how could a wolf speak a human language. Time went on and he learned her body language but she was never able to return to her true form so she was forced to stay with them. They became closer but she kept him at arm’s length knowing she can’t love a human. It was taboo in her pack. She hated pushing him away but a wolf loving a human was insane. One day her power return and she returned to her true form but she was now a feared creature. How could he love her now? She sat there and waited. Soon the brother woke to find the wolf. He panicked. She sat there and waited. Just stared at him. He soon calmed down and stared back at her. He couldn’t help the strange feeling that this has happened before but he’s never seen a wolf so how could this have happened before? He slowly moved to the bed and continued to stare. He met her gaze confused when it suddenly clicked. The wolf has the same gaze as the girl he cared for but there can be no way they are one in the same for turning wolf was impossible. She is not allowed to show him her power but she wants to. What if she did? Would he run and hate her? But he loved her before and being a wolf should not end their love. She jumped off the bed and turned back. He went into shock and passes out. She manages to catch him and holds him close. A minute later he wakes and looks at her in fear. She smiles and says her first words. The words he always told her. She touches his cheek and whispers ‘just a dream’. He relaxes and smiles. Falling for a human is taboo punished by losing one’s power to turn wolf. Was she willing to give up her home, her pack, her family for a human? To give up everything for one boy? She watched him as he relaxed and closes his eyes. She hesitates before pressing her lips to his. He jumps with surprise then relaxes, returning her kiss. What he doesn’t know is in that moment she lost everything for him. She felt her wolf leave her. The pain and sorrow that followed for losing herself was a lot to take but her love for him kept her sane. As she pulled away, he looked up at her. Then at the same time they whispered the three words that will forever bind them together.
