There she was. The girl he drooled over. Well in his mind anyway. Kere watched as his friend Dakota skipped over with a friendly smile on her lips. In his mind, the boy had cartoon hearts in his eyes and a string of drool hanging to the floor but never touching it. But he wasn't staring at her hair as it swung side to side or her hips as they moved with the motion of each skip. It was like Baywatch in slow motion for Kere as his eyes glued themselves to her bouncing chest. The boy could have stood there forever watching the girl bounce around.

A hand appeared in front of Kere's face, “Hello? Earth to Kere. Come in Kere.”

“Oh. Hey Dakota. I was just thinking about you.” the boy smirked mischievously.

“Nothing dirty I hope.”

“Right. Of course. I would never.”

Not able to help his wondering eyes, Kere missed whatever Dakota was saying. The boy was snapped back into his thoughts when Dakota linked her arm with his and started to drag him somewhere. Blinking a few times to clear his mind, the boy was finally able to find his words and ask where they were headed. Smiling brightly, Dakota explained she was taking him to the park.

Kere could not wrap his mind around how such a beautiful girl could go from acting her age to a little kid. But he could not help but have fun with her no matter what so allowed the girl to drag him wherever she wanted. Besides being around such a lovely girl made him cheerful. Kere would never turn the girl away. He was not in love with her but her body always made his heart melt.

Sitting side by side on the swings, the couple talked about what they had been up to the past few days. Kere was worried about bugging his friend with his boring school stuff but Dakota always seemed eager to hear all about it as if she had never heard about school before. What he really wanted to hear was Dakota talk. The girl was always so cheerful about everything she talked about. Kere was sure she could make suicide cheerful if she wanted. She was just a ball of sunshine. That's a lot of the reason why Kere loved spending time with her. Okay so her body was the other reason but he was guy. Who would not love having a girl who looked amazing to hang with?

“You tell me to tell you what I've been up to then you don't even listen.”

“Of course I am. I would never ignore you.”

Raises an eye brow, “Oh really?”

“I never could ignore such a beautiful girl. It's taboo. No! It's impossible!”

Kere couldn't believe what he was seeing. Pinking himself, the boy had to make sure what was in front of him was real. The girl before him was actually blushing. Not just a little or softly. Her cheeks were a deep red. Kere laid his cheek against the chain of the swim and sighed. Yes actually sighed. Dakota looked away to hide her blush and Kere's smile faded. He was really enjoying the way she looked and would not allow himself to forget it but he did not want to embarrass her more. Moving his feet, Kere began to swing while his friend composed herself. His smile returned as he pictured her blushing cheeks and the surprise she had.

When it started to get dark, Dakota stood from her swing. Kere stood as well and looked at his friend. Smiling brightly, like always, the girl said her good-bye. Nervous about the girl walking home in the dark, Kere offered to walk her. Smoothly slipping his arm around the girl's waist, Kere walked with Dakota. She seemed nervous with his arm where it was but she said nothing about it. Leading the way, Kere followed his friend to her house. They chatted but nothing serious. Just something to break the silence which both were happy to do.

Standing at her door, Dakota looked at her friend and smiled her bright smile. Kere kind of wanted to kiss her but could feel his cheek sting with fake pain. The boy was pretty sure he'd be slapped for such an act. The girl said good-night and Kere quickly went through the pros and cons about the kiss. In the middle of his thoughts, Kere's mind went blank as his friend's lips pressed against his cheek. Close enough. Giggling at what must have been some cartoon smirk, Dakota turned and stepped inside. Jumping down the two steps while thrusting his hand into the air, Kere could not believe what happened. Beyond excited, the boy ran home with the kiss flashing through his mind.
