Deil was in the middle of hunting. For some reason she always had to do it on her own. If anyone offered to help they would be turned down. Yet Braav was fascinated by the girl. The way she became a pure hunter was amazing since she was always so out going and edging annoying. The only thing that gave away her true personally was the quick tail wag she did right before hitting top speed after her prey. In three...two...one. A smile broke out but was hidden by his green mask as Deil wiggled her white tail then ran off after the hawk she spotted. He knew it was pointless to hunt them. They can do more damage than they are worth in meat but like normal the girl did her own thing. Barking, the hawk spreed it's wings and accpected the challenge. Worried about Deil getting hurt, Braav ran to her rescue.

Jumping on the hawk from behind, he sank his claws in between the feather. Flipping in a fury, knocked Braav off and the hawk flew to the top of a tree where it sat watchign the two. Proud of his work, Braav went to ask Deil if she was alright when the girl attacked him, pinning him on his back.

"What are you doing! I had him where I wanted him!" Deil growled.

"Yeah right. He was going to eat you at that rate."

"You had no right to interfere!"

Braav went quiet as he realized he might have crossed a line. Laying his green tipped ears back, he regretted his actions. Too mad to say anything else, Deil got off and turned her back to him as she began to storm off. Standing and shaking out his purple fur, Braav followed but was careful to keep his distance. He knew Deil would calm down and would understand why he tried to help her but til then he had to give her space.

With her tan fur standing up along the spine and her deep green ears flat against her head, Deil mumbled angrily. Something touched her, shocking her from her thoughts. Looking to see if it was danger, the girl was shocked to see Braav. She looked away from him. She was still mad at him.

"Come on. You can't stay mad at me forever. I'm sorry. I just didn't want you hurt."

"I know."

Sitting where she was, Deil anger began to fade.

"I just wish you'd listen to me. I know you are grown and can make your own choices but I don't want you getting into danger. I don't know what I'd do without."

"Sorry for not listening."

Deil felt bad for making him worry so much but she wanted to be just like him. He was so brave and strong. She knew she could be too if given the chance. But what Braav said was true. She should not go looking for trouble that could become deadly. The last thing she wanted was one or both of them hurt or killed.

Not wanting Deil sad, Braav rubbed against her.

"Cheer up. Your it."

He chuckled and ran off. Shocked, Deil growled and yelled no fair before running after him. Dail was faster but Braav was more agile keeping them even. Flattening his ears, Braav slipped under a fallen log. With no tail he had no fear of anything getting stuck. With her fluffy tail to keep her balance during her sprint, Deil was forced to jump on the log before jumping back to the ground to start her chase again. The chase lasted till both were out of breath.

Braav laid down to catch his breath while Deil laid across him doing the same. Closing her eyes, Deil relaxed. Both enjoyed to run and not much could stop them but running out of emergy is their biggest enemy.

"Braav? Can I ask you something?"

"Of course."

"Why do you stay with me? I'm always putting you in danger and I know I'm not easy to get along with so why not go your own way?"

Taken off guard by her words, Braav was quiet for a long time. Thinking about his reasons for staying and how to tell her the truth. Right then he was grateful for the mask hidding his face for he could feel his blush burning his face. He could feel Deil becoming nervous about what he will say. Taking a deep breath, he explained his actions.

"I want to protect you, be there for you. You are strong but I want to be your hero. I know it's stupid but I've always felt like this. From the moment we met."

Deil got up and laid down beside Braav. Nervously he looked at her. The last thing he wanted to do was ruin what they had or have deny him. He lost her now after so many years, he may never recover. His heartbeat rang in his ears and he only hoped he'd be able to hear what Deil had to say about his feelings.

I smile reflected in her eyes but did not touch her lips.

"Why have you never told me this?"

"I was worried of be rejected. I did not want to lose you."

Pressing her head under his chin, Deil wiggled her white fluffy tail. Braav watched it wag side to side as he smiled behind his mask. He knew this meant she cared for him the same, filling his heart with joy. They laid like that for hours. Neither wanted to move. Braav could have laid there till the end up time. The one he loved at his side was all he ever wanted and now that she knew his true feelings and returned him, nothing would separate them. Deil was just as full of love. She might want to be strong and brave like Braav but with him with her she knew she would always be safe.
